food for thought

first friday senior mercy brown bag food bank

3 natural flavor purified water apple drink 0% juice lots a sugar

1 lb dry beans

1 can tomato paste

2 cans mixed vegetables does anyone ever wilfully buy these?

8 snack size butterfingers granola candy bars

1 box cereal 8 pk cinnamon candy sprinkles oatmeal

1 pk english muffins

1 partially rotted cabbage

5 apples

what more could a person want for the next tow weeks? protein?nutrition?

It makes me wonder if Mercy really knows about this. May I get this into somebody's hands who can make a change?

Oh, wow. All I've heard for seven years is how proud Mercy is of the Brown Bag program and how "successful" it's been. Which distribution site do you go to? Quality may vary from site to site. Even though there are something like seventeen different distribution sites around the East Bay, there are actually only three employees running the program... Joy, the director, and Bill and Miguel, who run the warehouse. Everything else is volunteer. I can give you Joy's email address if you would like to contact her about this directly. My guess is she is not aware that this is what your bag looks like.

this was an average bag sometime they're almost all junk food.
